Here are the benefits of joining Eastern Connecticut Physician Hospital Organization (ECPHO)

ECPHO has developed contracts with managed care plans for enhanced rates and improved terms. Contracts have been finalized with Aetna, ConnectiCare, Cigna, Coventry/First Health, Great-West Healthcare, MultiPlan/PHCS, National Preferred Provider Network, North East Health Direct, Prime Health Services, Remove Senior Whole Health, Three Rivers Provider Network (TRPN) and the WellCare Medicare Advantage Program. Additional health plans are expected to be contracted in the future.

The ECPHO Administration offers expert contract assistance with understanding, analysis, and administration of health plan contracts, even for those programs that do not contract with the PHO.

An ECPHO Payor Relations Service provides assistance to ECPHO providers in contracting efforts and will assist in the resolution of other problems with the ECPHO contracted health plans.

General assistance in identifying information technology solutions is offered through ECPHO. The PHO has developed strategic relationships with key technology vendors, including Electronic Health Record (EHR) system vendors to obtain reduced rates and enhanced services to ECPHO Providers.

The ECPHO Administration works with practice administrators to identify ways to add value to the offices. Some initiatives are described below.

ECPHO Providers can take advantage of special purchasing opportunities through ECPHO’s Preferred Vendor Program – offerings include office supplies, computer hardware and software, telecommunications, staffing, and other products and services.

ECPHO sponsors education programs for the office staff of ECPHO providers on relevant topics such as technology, coding, staffing and human resources, risk management, materials management, etc.

ECPHO offers providers and their practices networking opportunities to help identify best practices and solutions for common problems.

ECPHO will facilitate and encourage communication, collaboration and coordination between and among ECPHO providers and ECHN.
